I recently wanted to buy a new PC but didn't want to lose everything. I found a new PC but it has a SATA 3 port while my HD is a regular SATA drive. Am I able to place it on the SATA 3 port without any issues, or will it just not work?

The physical drive will work no problem.
Are you talking about a drive with the OS on it? That's a different story, and probably will not work without a full reinstall.

Now...what exactly are you wanting to do?

Well it has Windows 10 on it and I'd like to keep that as well. What do you mean with a full reinstall? Can't I just plug it in and just start off where I left?

When switching motherboard, a full reinstall is always recommended, often required.
And then you might have a licensing issue. Where did this Win 10 come from?

You can obtain the install media from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

However, you WILL run into licensing/activation issues. That Upgrade is viable for the original system.
Your only recourse, if it does not activate (and it probably won't), is to call Microsoft and explain the situation. They are under no obligation to allow it for a whole new system.
