[SOLVED] Can I run an msi rx 570 and rx 580 in crossfire?

It's a stupid question and I don't plan on ever using crossfire but I'm curious.

NOPE. Not possible. BOTH the cards have to be of identical model number (same family).

NVM, yes you can. But anyways, going for a CFX setup isn't worth the hassle these days. You would be better off buying a SINGLE powerful GPU. Also, give this a read:

Yup, I think you are correct. I just now realized this. They can be crossfired, but I think the RX 580 will limit itself in terms of shaders and memory accessible to be like an RX 570 though. Not really worth going for this setup, at least in my opinion.

Also, the lowest common denominator will be used to make everything work synchronized for DX11 or DX 11 games.

I agree. Not the best solution for sure.
@ OP... obviously the board has to support Crossfire too.
