Can I run disk error checking on a Win7 x64 srt setup?

My computer's been freezing and I'm suspecting bad sectors, but I have a 64gb SSD paired with a 1.5tb HD in Intel SRT. I have a Z77 motherboard. Can I "scan for and attampt recovery of bad sectors" under Tools/Error Checking?
