Hey everyone i wanted to know if my build would run most next-gen games and if not what you would recommend upgrading

Graphics Card: MSI Radeon R9 270 Gaming 2GB

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 840 - Quad Core

RAM: 16GB 4x DDR3 (1333Mhz)

Im not sure what the exact motherboard is but the brand is asus
and i also wanted to know if that build is worth $500 what i brought i brought it for

Thank You :)

No, the motherboard doesn't do anything. It's just to check if overclocking could be done to achieve better performance, or being able to install an additional GPU for crossfire or SLI. Basically, just upgrade related stuff.

At 1366x768, I think it'd be pretty good. I thought you were aiming for 1080p. But at that resolution, you could max out certain modern games at achieve good FPS.
If you are saying that you already bought it, then it does not really matter about what it is worth, unless you are selling it. And we would need the exact system specs, all of them, to be able to make an accurate judgement on that.

The system is okay. It can run many games that are out now and will be coming out, but you will need to turn down the settings.

What do you mean by exact system specs?
and yeah i already brought it

im not exactly sure maybe 1366×768? or lower if i need to and i think the ram is maybe Kingston? im not sure because i brought it off someone else GC brand and CPU brand is already there and as for the motherboard does it really affect how games run?

im sorry im not that sure on how resolution works whats difference between ie 1080p and resolution?

1080p just means 1920x1080. It's the 'Full HD' resolution. 1080p is the resolution most people use nowadays.

Resolution helps add in more pixels to an image. A low resolution image will have low pixels per inch (ppi) than a higher resolution image.

In gaming, higher resolution will definitely make a game look a lot better and sharper, but at the cost of your FPS.
Your current resolution (1366x768, which is the same as mine too) is considered to be a lower resolution these days. Your GPU (R9 270) should not have any toubles running modern titles at that resolution. It can definitely do 1080p, but you may have to turn some settings down.

Ahhh thank you so much :)
