Can I run Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 with Gigabyte GA H61M-S1 MOTHERBOARD ?

My Specs

CPU - Intel Core i5 3330 @ 3.00 GHz
RAM - 8 GB DDR3
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA H61M-S1 (16GB ram supported)
PSU - Cooler Master Thunder 450W ( but I want to buy a new 1 & it would be 850W )
500GB HDD

Yes, your board has a PCIe x16 3.0 slot and supports any current single GPU. As you have mentioned, getting a new PSU would be a good idea. You want something Tier 1 or Tier 2, or 2A or 2B depending on the list version, of 500w or more as ranked on the following list. Tier 3 units are not recommended for gaming cards and are best avoided due to internal quality and reliability issues:
