So I've been playing Skyrim on my xbox for a while now, and I want to upgrade to PC.
I have a standard Windows 8 that's just over 2 years old. Before, I played Minecraft, and I got between 55 and 70 fps playing on medium-low settings.
I don't think I'll be using many mods - if any - I've been thinking a seasons mod and some other small one, nothing huge, but I'd like to know exactly what my capacity is for those kinds of things.

What are your system specs? Without that we cannot help you.

If it helps, I got Skyrim up and running decently well on a friend's laptop which has a Core i5-4200u and the Intel HD 4400 graphics core. I changed a lot of settings in the SkyrimPref.ini file to disable shadows and some texture size tweaks. Those things cannot be changed in the Graphics Settings menus in Skyrim.

Average FPS at 1600x900 is a little over 30 FPS while at 1366x768 it is a bit over 40 FPS. No anti-aliasing and using a mix of low, medium and high settings.
