Can i SLI a faulty card with a working card(please read more)?

Hello All;
I have a gainward GTX570 which recently broke causing my pc to use microsoft basic display drivers, the output was also covered with white block artifacts. I just ordered a working gigabyte gtx570 with the same amount of memory. Can i use these 2 in SLI, and use the Gigabyte card to output. also if so, would this SLI bridge work:

Broken card (3d part gone) is not going to work in SLI!
