Hi All,
Do you think I could squeeze the spec below using a brand new Be Quiet! System power 9 500W psu ? which I already got
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/b3...-w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-bn246

Below would be worst case with USB2 x1 & USB3 x3 devices in as well & say upto 16 hours a day.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600
2x 8GB DDDR4 2400
Asus R9 280X 3GB (R9280X-DC2-3GD5) standard one no OC at all but boosts clock to 1000MHz from 850MHz so did it at 1000MHz
120GB SSD not m.2
1TB 7200RPM SATA3 HD
No Optical
x3 120mm case fans
27" Monitor
x1 Mouse
x1 Keyboard
x1 USB 3 device
x1 USB 2 device

OuterVision Power Supply Calculator puts it at 500W with 550W recommended with output below, I have put what the PSU can do in brackets from the back of the box.

3+3V = 9.5A (PSU can do 24A) +5V = 10.1A (PSU can do 15A) 83W Combined (PSU can do 110W) +12V = 35.6A (PSU can do 38A over 12V1 (24A) & 12V2 (20A) ) 427W (PSU can do 456W over 12V1 & 12V2)

What do you think ?

It's a budget build I'm doing to sell so not for me, yeah 120gb is small but enough for the OS and programs.

I already got the PSU but waiting on the GPU, only cost me £30.

The above is worst case for whats connected to it and its all new bar the cpu, memory & graphics card.

Its a Tier C PSU so not a cheap and nasty one and its not a beast of a system.

I think upgrade wise the R9 280X is a power beast and most new cards will use less unless they go crazy up the scale.

Think I will give it a go and run some cinebench, 3d mark and heaven for a few hours and check the loads at the wall

If it works I'll suggest its low/med graphics on games then and nothing high/ultra.

for those curious I put up the results

Forgot to update this one. The R9 280X worked fine under load with the 500W but plugged more things in to see what would happen but squeezed it a bit much it started get a bit to warm after 4 hours under load, managed to get an old 650W corsair cheap and that gets not quite as hot and has little bit more headroom.
