Hi!

I am buying a new computer and want to put all my money into the hardware and try to use my old Windows license.

1. Is it possible to upgrade to Windows 10 on this computer?

2. Is that version transferable to a new PC?

Is OEM an option? Retailers in Sweden charge around $150 for a Win 10 license

Thanks!

Anton

Solution
The number System Info page is not the "license key".

Use Belarc Advisor to probably retrieve your current Win 7 license.
https://www.belarc.com/products/belarc-advisor

Build the new system.
Install Win 10, and apply that license you retrieved.

It will probably work to activate the new Win 10 install.

Yes, but...

Where did this Win 7 license come from? OEM, Retail, other?
Do you have the license key documented?
What is the parts list of the old system?

OEM Win 7 can only be upgraded to Win 10 on that original hardware.
After that, you may possibly maybe move that license to the new hardware.

What is the new PC?
Overall budget?

Thanks for a very quick response!

I bought it from retailer in parts, and after checking system information I'm pretty sure Windows 7 Home Premium bought from the retailer, installed by them. I can also see my license key in the bottom of system information.

Don't be afraid but my old computer (2012):
AMD Athlon 3500+, 8GB RAM, GTX 960

New computer (might swap to cheaper GPU, depending on what they have atm. 1000kr = $100~:

Thanks a lot mate! Sorry for not being clear, it says:

Windows-activate

Windows has been activated

Product-ID xxxxx-OEM-xxxxxx-xxxxx

Just confirmed it's a legit version bought from the retailer
Right.
The Product ID is basically the model number.
The License Key is different.

Your Product Key with the "OEM" in the middle may or may not work on the new hardware.
An OEM license could be upgraded on that same hardware.

Might not activate a brand new Win 10 install on different hardware.

Try it and see what happens.
