[SOLVED] Can I test the power without the RAM installed yet

I just started a new build and I don’t have the RAM yet but I have all of the other parts. After I got all the other parts installed I was thinking I wanted to test the power to see how everything worked but it won’t power on. I was wondering if I had a faulty part then I saw something that said the bios is programmed to not even try to boot without RAM. Was that the answer to my problem or is there something else I need to worry about.

I know that it won’t post without RAM but I wanted to power it on to see if the fans spin and everything like that works. Can I still do that without RAM or do I have a dead part.

Whether the fans spin or not is no indication of broken or working.

If there is a BIOS thing that says it won't even try with no RAM, then that is probably it.

Wait until you have all the parts.

Ok thank you for helping I have been fooling around with it all day and it couldnt get it to do anything so it will nice to just take a break and wait for the RAM to get here.
