Hello guys,
I have a noisy fan which constantly running at full speed like my computer is at 100% load.
I know PSU fans has no sensor, so I decided to unplug it as I don't think my psu generates any heat at all.
I have a modular Antec EDGE 750W unit, which is an overkill for my current rig which consists of
Mainboard : Gigabyte H81M-S2PH
Chipset : Intel Haswell
Processor : Intel Pentium G3420 @ 3200 MHz
Physical Memory : 8192 MB DDR3-SDRAM
Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950
Hard Disk : Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB ATA Device (250GB)
Hard Disk : Seagate ST4000DX001-1CE168 ATA Device (4001GB)
Monitor Type : Acer XG270HU - 27 inches
I've also unplugged all the fans of my case so I can make sure where's the noise comes from.
So I guess the real power consumption is nearly under 200w which makes me think It's safe to unplug the fan and eliminate its noise.
What do you think about that guys ?

Solution
That unit shouldn't be running full speed, or at all, unless it's over a certain temperature and most definitely has thermal controls for low speed operation when not under high load conditions. If it's running full speed all the time, then the unit needs to be warrantied.

Under no circumstances should the fan be disconnected or run without it's cooling capabilities functional. I'd suggest it has merely minutes or hours running without it if under any kind of demanding load. Even under mainstream usage it will entirely fail fairly quick with it's cooling disabled. I'd RMA the unit without using it further.
if its making sound and your psu is in RMA then best would be get it checked and get repaired otherwise removing the Fan could harm your Psu and inturn you hardware as if you think that you
Psu would handle your spec at zero fan then your wrong as those kind are specially designed Psu which have high rating and better parts that could handle larger temps but not yours
so my advice to you would be go get it corrected ....
just to be safe on your end else it might run fine even if we say but Psu are Rated as per the temps are maintained and provide its effeicency at those temps

Solution
I tried to stress test my CPU and my GPU at the same time to see If the fan will go any louder and It has not.
Although my entire PC is so cold and PSU exhausted air is so cold as well!!
I guess that means the fan is at a constant speed not relative to any kind of load conditions.
Is that means the fan is faulty or the PSU unit thermal controllers ?

I've been using this PSU for 3 days now 😀
Can I replace the fan with a good reliable one from Thermaltake, Corsair or CoolerMaster ?

IF it is running at 100% all the time, the fan has nothing to do with it. The fan only spins at whatever RPM the supplied voltage affords, which should vary according to the PSU temperature/load. If there is a problem, it would be with the thermal sensor or other circuitry inside the PSU. Unless you have experience with power supply repair or engineering, I'd leave it alone and contact Antec for a replacement unit.
