[SOLVED] Can i update bios if i have ryzen 5 3600

So i have Asus prime b450-plus and ryzen 5 3600, i had to get bios update for that motherboard because it didnt support ryzen 3000's. So my question is can i go update the latest bios for my motherboard or does it delete the feature that it doesnt support ryzen 3000's. I hope someone understands what i mean

Yes you can update to the newest BIOS Version.
Every Version from 1201 and newer supports the 3000 series CPUs.

Just be sure to go into the BIOS and set the Optimized Defaults and then save and reboot before you update.

To add. Bios update adds micro code so the motherboard can identify newer cpus. An earlier gen cpu needs to be used to update before installing the newer cpu.

Oh ok i understand your question now. Im obviously slow, unlike DMAN 😉

Na, you're good. Bios updates won't revoke compatibility for your cpu. It is true, some motherboards with smaller bios chips had to reduce cpu support to make space for 3rd gen code but they were low end 1st gen cpus.
