Can I update to 980ti?

i have amd phenom II x6 1090t, msi 990fxa-gd80, 6970hd, adata1200 psu,thermaltech speedo casing. can i upgrade gpu to 980ti? or will it bottleneck too much?

i mainly use autocad, sketchup, 3dmax, lumion(render soft) and play games little. my brother will be coming from state recently i want to get it, but am confused... plz help

If you have the funds and you know your bro will jam out a lot, hells yes, you buy better GPU! On the other hand, you can always buy a console and worry not about the maintenance and upgrades for PC.

brother it's not that i don't play... i play latest game but not long after 2-3 days due to vercity work i stop it and study... as an architecture student a lot of rendering is needed so a good card is must cuda cores are going to help much ... i think basically i was going for 970, but as 980ti have about double cuda cores i wanna get that, plz tell me can i atleast run the card. i fear it has pci 2.0 and 980ti is pci 3.0
i also slowly intend to get a ssd for new year and mobo nd intle processor by may. plz answer quickly

gaming in pc is fun, truthfully i can't use console joystick... and i need pc for university's work also.plz tell me if my mobo and cpu can get 980ti to work and which brand will be good as i am new in nvidia world.
