My rig is kind-of old and i don't really have the money for a new rig and I was wondering If I could just update my GPU.

Currently I have an AMD Phenom II x3 720 running at 2.8 Ghz CPU, 4GB of RAM, and a Micro-Star MS-7388 mobo.

I am looking to upgrade from a GTS 250 512mb GPU to something better w/ Direct X11.

Solution

A 750 ti would work with your mobo as it has a pci-e 16x slot so it works with most modern gpu.

What PSU do you have? If it is a cheapo PSU that came with the computer, you will have to look at the stickers on the side of it. Check for the Wattage, and how much Amperage is on the 12V rail(s). It should look something like: +12V1 with 20A under it

I have a Corsair 750w PSU.

Also I was wondering if it'd be worth-my-while to perhaps just save up for a new rig or not? I know mine is pretty old and low-tech by todays standards.

Yeah you could get a gtx 750ti as your psu will easily handle it and saving up would be worth while but if you just want to play games then getting a 750ti will be fine.
