No, they will use a different socketed motherboard, depending on which generation you use.

No. The E8400 uses a 775 socket. There are multiple sockets for Core-i CPUs (1156,1366,1155,1150 and 1151).

Im guessing the best possible processors for your motherboard are the Q9650 and the Q9660. Though if you got the green, it alot better to replace your mobo and cpu.
