Can i upgrade my laptop cpu???

I would like to know if upgrading a 2nd gen core i5 to 5th gen core i7 is possible!!


My laptop uses Socket 988B rPGA

My laptop is: Dell inspiron N7110 17R

My CPU is: Intel Core i5 2450M

BTW i know how to take the laptop apart.

3rd gen i7, but you have to make sure you get one with a max TDP of 35 watts.

My limit for a processor clock in a laptop in 2.5 ghz, im looking for the fastest cpu that does not get so hot very fast, which one is fastest but never gets so hot?

BGA1023 / BGA1224 / Socket G2 SOCKETS
i dont think it will work for your board, please verify properly

My system is a dell Inspiron N7110/17R. Depends on which model number you refer it to, You should be able to look up the motherboard for it to see what it is.
