Can I upgrade the CPU on this computer?

So my uncle gave me an old HP Compaq DC7800. I know it support up to 8GB of DDR2 RAM. And I can see from this website the CPU can be upgraded https://www.manualslib.com/manual/275291/Hp-Compaq-Dc7800.html?page=35

But I am trying to meet the minimum specs for the following games:

CSGO
CoD: WAW
CoD: BO3

Of course 2 of thoughs arent exactly out of reach but the last one is stretching it. I know it will support the minimum RAM, GPU, and clock speed if i used AMD (Which im not using) Is there a way (with or without replacing the whole OEM mobo) to upgrade the CPU to meet the minimum requirements? And if so, how would i do this and what parts do i need. I currently have my own custom built pc which i did myself, but i dont know where to begin with old OEM PC's. Tahnks to all who reply :)

Solution

Im resetting windows atm, but i believe 4GB of ram and i know an Intel Core Duo E series (dont know the exact model)
As for the mobo I have no clue, but i think the link i posted to the CPU states the mobo

I was wondering which of those CPUs in the support list you had, because if it already is one of the better ones, there wouldn't be much noticeable improvement. In which case, the money would be better spent on just upgrading the gfx card.

The E6850 dual core or one of the quad cores would be the obvious best choice if you can find one used for a good price.

Well i know none of those processors meet the minimum requirements for Black Ops 3.
The minimum is Intel® Core™ i3-530 @ 2.93 GHz.
Do I have to upgrade the whole board?

Yes, along with the RAM and possibly a fresh install of Win. And you'll need to check to see if the HP case uses proprietary connectors/connection to the motherboard that won't mate up with retail boards.

How would I check for that?

INSTALL CPU-Z AND GIVE US MORE DETAIL WITH YOUR CPU , GPU AND RAM.

if you have budget go with new rig , if you don't want spend more money then we consult you to get better performance with your current build.

Download Speccy. It will tell you what CPU, RAM, Motherboard, etc. We need to know what kind of case you have.

I am using the main (Largest Case), and Have 6GB or DDR2 Ram and the Intel Core Duo Dual Core 3.00GHz CPU. The Mobo is the default one that comes with it (Obviously haha). And it has 500GB HDD. Is there any point to upgrading the CPU to a Quad core (that the mobo will accept) because the clock speeds will be substantially lower. Mostly ill be using this for LIGHT gaming (Minecraft at low settings and stuff like that) and YouTube. But im wondering if there is any possible upgrade (Without changing the board) to make this strong enough for Basic Photoshop Graphics creation/editing, basic Adobe Premiere Pro Video Editing, and the ability to use my Elgato HD60 Pro PCie capture card in this pc.

I realize this is a very old and low spec PC, but i mean for its time it wasnt entry level. Is it still capable of being useful for any of the uses above if i upgrade the GPU and ram? If so what is the best GPU it can handle? And is the CPU worth upgrading just to be quad core?

Also on a side not my graphics keep crashing for a split second and my monitor goes black, then it turns back on again. This is rare but its annoying. Is this a GPU issue?

It's hard to say with the age of the unit. It could dust inside the case causing problems. It could be the power supply, GPU, or a combination of the 2.
Upgrading it would probably be a good idea to upgrade the power supply.

I"m guessing this is your motherboard HP 437795‑001 DC Desktop Board Motherboard
supported CPU's for that chipset, and quad cores are on that list.

You will need the latest bios updated for the quad cores.

I found that there was a micro code bios update to support quad cores

But is upgrading the CPU to a quad core worth the drop in clock speed for the use i want out of it (Light gaming, possible light photoshop and premiere pro editing)?

Depends on the GPU, if you are just going to get one that doesn't require additional power from the power supply like the GTX 710-730, or a 1050 low profile.

im goign to upgrade to a quad core, as for the GPU im buying it off amazon, and there is plenty of room for that card haha. its more roomy than you'd think. But if i can spend less i would. Im buying the stuff tomorrow cause its Amazon prime day and the card could be discounted. Do you know where the cheaper card is (any cheaper card that's in stock) on amazon?
