can i use 2gb ddr3 ram with 1gb ddr2 ram

Hello sir I'm having Frontech g41 Combo have ddr2 and ddr3 slots motherboard with dual core processor and 320gb sata hdd , now i want to speed Up my pc with new 2gb ddr3 ram, my question is can i use 2gb ddr3 ram with 1gb ddr2 ram,can i get total 3gb ram combining 1gb ddr2+2gb ddr3 in both slot? Thanks in advance.

For your kind information, DDR2 and DDR3 memory will not work when installed simultaneously. It must be either only DDR2 or only DDR3 memory. So I guess that answers your question.

Buy another 2GB or 1GB DDR2 memory if you are planning to keep the existing memory else replace the DDR2 memory with DDR3 memory. Hope that helps.

Nope. Don't bother with the old 1gb ddr2 ram, the single 2gb ddr3 ram would be way faster than that 1gb. But if you have extra cash, I suggest you to buy another 2gb, so get 4gb all in all. You need to run the same exact rams, same speed, same size.
