Question Can I use a 24 pin connector as a 8 pin in a gpu?

I am trying to plan a laptop from desktop computer parts, and I want to use 2 300 watt rgeek pico power supplies from amazon. Because the gpu I want to use is a 78000xt, I was wondering if it would be possible to repurpose the 24 pin on the second power supply to a 8 pin, because the gpu has 2 8pin connectors on it. I could then use the 2 4 pins on the same power supply as a second 8 pin. If anyone has any feedback on if this will work or if it is a good idea, please let me know.

No.

Not that it cannot or could not be done.

The requirement being three fold:

1) That you can map out the pins and voltages to ensure that they all are correct between PSU and GPU (No room for error).

2) That the physical connectors can be matched as well.

3) That you can cut, solder, etc. the cables into a workable configuration.,

My recommendation is to use only the power cable that come with the two PSUs.

Which is likely to be problematic as well.

Keep your project simple and use a single, higher wattage PSU.

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?
