I bought a pre built computer some time ago and now i started upgrading the parts.
My specs now are: GTX 1050ti, 12 Gb Ram DDR4 dual channel, i3 7100 3.9 GHz and a 500 W power supply.
I did not change the motherboard. I looked it up and it said it can support up to the 6th generation of i3/i5/i7's. but i have a 7th generation i3 so i'm wondering if it would support the 8th generation as well. I reckon my power supply is big enough but will the motherboard be able to supply the wattage necesarry to the i5 8600 is the question. It uses almost double the ammount of power as the i3 i have(it uses 95W and the i3 only uses 51W). If it's usefull, i have a 4 pin connector for the cpu on the motherboard for the power.
