Can I use all the ports?

Hi all,

I currently have a GTX470, and am using 2 monitors with it. I am considering upgrading one of my monitors to a 30" display, which requires a dual link dvi cable. Is it possible to use the 2x dvi ports for this, and then use the hdmi port for my other monitor?

I think you are confusing dual link with two DVI cables, they're not the same thing. You can hook up to two monitors up to that single 470. And yes, one HDMI + one DVI is fine.

The monitor I am looking at is a U2711.

30" monitor resolutions (this one is a 27" but is the same resolution) require 2x DVI, right?

Ah, yes, it requires two dual link DVI connections. I'm not sure whether you could keep it and another monitor hooked up, hopefully someone else can jump in.

I know the nvidia 570/580 can only drive 2 displays at a time but this might be based on the ports or the actual display system so you may need to contact nvidia on this one.
