Other components:
LED 1080x1920 Acer monitor with a VGA and DVI-D inputs (No HDMI inputs)

I play video games, but I also like to have spreadsheets, Google Documents, and Xsplit tabbed. My PC already goes to my Acer. I'm not happy with any of my crappy storage drives that are already in the rig, though. I want to be able to sit at a desk for a dual-monitor setup. Being on a single-screen laptop makes me too lazy. I don't expect any of this crap to be technically possible, but tell me if I can do anything cool here.

I want to use my 512 gb ssd on my laptop to start my desktop, without dismantling my laptop.
I would like to use my Acer as a side monitor for productivity.
On the flip side, I would like to start my laptop and use the specs of my desktop.
I would like to add <$100 HDMI monitors so I have three.
I would like to combine my laptop and desktop for more power.

Solution
you can use the desktop, running a game and play at your laptop with steam in-home-streaming over LAN/wifi (lags included)

you can use a remote dektop to use both monitors at the same time, connect the monitor to your laptop and control your desktop with your laptop
