Can I use DVD+R 1-16x media with a 24x DVD rw drive?

Can I use DVD+R 1-16x media with a 24x DVD rw drive? If so, does the drive automatically lower the write speed or do I have to configure it?

It should work fine. The dvd burner will only write at the disc's rated speed (automatically).
