I have a Dell Studio XPS Computer with an ageing hard drive. I want to know if it is feasible to use this hard drive as my main and bootable hard drive? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822146067&cm_re=HGST_Ultrastar-_-22-146-067-_-Product
I know some people would call it overkill. But speed is not my main objective here. Its reliability. My home computer is where I keep very important files. Also, I have had to, in the past, return several hard drives and start all over with reformatting. I think this is a great price for this type of hard drive. I would greatly appreciate what you guys think of this. Also, I would like to add I do backups to an external hard drive and online. In the past when drives have failed this has saved me from losing my memories. Thanks.

Hi there Old_Man53,

This is a desktop computer right? In case it is, this drive should fit in and you should face no issues installing it.
It's great that you back up your data on two other locations as mechanical drives just fail.
I guess you can keep an eye on its health status with testing it from time to time: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
