Hi, I'm looking to build a new pc and I know that it would be tremendously cheaper to take the 8GB of RAM from my laptop as well as the hard drive and or intel i5 processor. Is any of this possible or worth it? Thanks.

Solution
You can use the physical hard drive. That's about it.
RAM is different, CPU and GPU are different.

If you use the HDD, note that it will be slower than a regular 3.5" 7200RPM destop HDD.

Best solution? Sell the laptop to fund new desktop parts, instead of trying to reuse its parts.

Thanks! I should have realized that if I would be willing to take out half the parts to save 200ish dollars, I could get way more by just selling the laptop.
