Thanks

Solution
Well the Pentium 4 506 is an LGA775 CPU, so it will at least physically fit on the board. However, it looks like it won't actually work. The CPU support list seen here does not list any of the LGA775 Pentium 4s. Support seems to be restricted to Dual and Quad core chips with an 800MHz FSB.

Assuming it's your CPU that has gone bad and it isn't your motherboard that has failed, you're going to need to get a CPU on that list if you want to keep your current setup.
The model number is printed on top of the CPU.

The Pentium 4 will be a huge downgrade to any dual core you had. It's not powerful enough to decode HD video even.

The CPU should have the model number on the heatspreader, so posting that would help. If not does the CPU have any pins? If it does have pins, it's one of the older sockets that won't work with your motherboard. If it just has gold contacts at the bottom, then it's an LGA775 CPU and might work if your motherboard's BIOS supports it, which you would also need to know the model number for.

Hi again
I got intel e5300 pentium dual core,SLGTL MALAY,2.60GHZ/2M/800/06 QP009C406 which i think is corrupt and i got one more which is intel 04 pentium 4 506 SL8PL CHINA 2.66GHZ/1M/533/04A 5609A503 i wamt to use this one in place of the dual core
And mother board is DG31PR(B)
KINDLY SUGGEST
Thank you 🙂

Solution
Hey supernova thanks a lot I really appreciate your help
I need some more can you just tell me why I am getting thermal boot trip error, I mean what are the reasons behind that errors
I am getting that errors so I thought my processor is damage but if it would have damaged then the PC should not boot at all, but it is starting only for few minutes after that it shuts down and then I hear beeps and after that the thermal trip error on the screen
Thanks once again 🙂

That error typically means your CPU is overheating. It probably means either your CPU cooler is loose, the thermal paste has dried out over the years and needs to be reapplied, or the fan on the cooler has failed. Crack open your case, make sure the CPU fan still spins. If it does, get some thermal paste and some rubbing alcohol (preferably 99%) and remove the CPU cooler, clean off the CPU, apply new thermal paste and reattach the CPU cooler.
