Can I use 'REALD 3d polarized glasses' for Nvidia 3D Vision?

Hi there,

I've Nvidia GTX 560Ti card and I watch the 3D movies on my display using RED-CYAN glasses, but the colors are compromised due to these glasses. So is it possible to use 'REALD 3d polarized glasses' for Nvidia 3D Vision?

Yes you can... Nvidia has a utility for any 3D set up. I just downloaded it and I am using it with my Visio HDMI TV and the polarized glasses that came with the TV. It is working great... was a little difficult setting up, because you have to have the TV in the 3D mode when it is setting up. But I figured it out. You can use it for 30days free... and does not require Nvidia's glasses or system, just Nvidia video card, a 3D ready display, and 3D content... $39.99 All it is is the drivers to run the 3D on systems not using the Nvidia glasses.

I noticed that it uses HDMI 1.4. With polarized glasses, does that still limit you to 24hz at 1080p (24 per eye)? From my understanding, the polarized systems essentially only uses half the screens pixel per eye, so I imagine you can, unless these TV's have increased resolutions so each eye gets 1080p. How does that work, at least with your TV?

I'm using NVIDIA GTX560Ti card on my LG E2360 LED monitor. Right now I'm able to see the 3D movis and games with RED-CYAN glasses. But I just need to confirm if POLORIZED glasses will work or not? So if you have any more details on this please share.

I just read that post here and wondered how you're going to "trick" the vnidia 3d-setup utility thingy into believing you have connected any of the available options for 3d, because otherwise it doesn't seem to let me click continue? (I could use the red/blue option to get through the installer, but how will I make sure it works with polarized/side-by-side material in the end?

If that software didn't work, you can always get Tridef3D software. It's the HD3D software meant for AMD cards, but it works for Nvidia, and the software doesn't care what you use for glasses.
