Question Can I use something metal/aluminum to lift my GPU up half an inch?

My GPU needs to be lifted up like half an inch or a full inch, because one of the fans is slightly tapping the hard drive cage, and only once the fans start spinning faster does it start making a noise. I was wondering if I could slide in a metal multi-tool under it to lift it up. It's a 7800 XT MERC. It literally just needs to be small bit. At the very least until I get a support bracket.

It's sagging ? Don't use metal or anything conductive.

Only use something to prop it back up to normal if the weight of the GPU is causing it to sag. Cards are getting bigger and bigger and now can also be counted in kilograms and not just pounds..

Multiple pound, in weight, GPU's slotted into a non-reinfoced PCIe slot will make it sag eventually. Plastic when heated will only retain its shape for so long.

I had to prop my card up. I had a AMD 6850 which is not even all that heavy but the slot was not reinforced. This made the card slope down and lose connection to the connectors in the slot.

It got to a point where the computer would only turn on and pass POST if the card was propped up.

Prop it up now to stop further issues.
