I just read the article about Tiny10. In it, it says it "is aimed at those with "a truly old computer"".

I have a laptop I got years ago I did not like, so, I just dumped it. It came with Windows 8. Even new, it was so very slugish and tiring to even use, and still, I replaced with an SSD, still same and not worth my time. I now own three more laptops. When I first saw the Tiny10, I decided to try it on this laptop. I was floored how back-to-life it came. I just love Tiny10!

The article mentioned how it would be for "truly" old computer. This laptop is not truly old. The speed at which it opens and shuts down is simply amazing.

I am not super servy with technology, but I know when I use to use a x86 computer. I don't know much about processors, so am kinda confused the mentioning "x86" with a not too old laptop that would run Windows 10.

My main laptop now, I use it for my financial stuff, and am wondering what would be the issue if I install Tiny10/Tiny11 on it? In this article, I also read it has "fully functional Windows Defender app/service". At the moment, I have Windows 10 Pro. This main laptop seem to be getting sluggish. I don't have much installed. Would it be advisable to install Tiny11 and use it for my financial services laptop? Since it mentioned it is for x86 processors, so it won't work for my main laptop with AMD Dual-Core architecture? If it would work with an AMD, I could try a dual-boot system.

Cheers.

difficult to identify what is exactly removed.

Tiny10 includes files that remove all default programs including Image Viewer, Internet Explorer, Media Player, and others, leaving only Notepad and Wordpad in this stripped-down version of Windows 10. It’s also worth noting that Tiny10 does not have Microsoft Store or Windows Security

Windows security is this dashboard:

I was just curious what difference was between it and Defender.

AMD is X86. Almost all CPU are still.

i wonder how many 486 match its minimum ram of 2gb
The recommended lower RAM / storage limits of Tiny11 are about 2GB / 16GB, so Tiny10 should slot in slightly below this to save the day for Windows devotees looking to revive an older system.

CPU - all it says is it needs to be running at 1ghz. MIght exclude a 486?
