[SOLVED] Can I use two routers to connect a computer in a distant room?

So my question is in my house my office is located at the furthest point of the house from the modem and router. Is it possible to purchase a second identical router and have it access the internet through the first router and also provide wired connections to the multiple devices in my office?

I was planning on running a cable through the floor across the basement over to my office and into the router.

Wouldn't that just be the make it a WAP? and not allow it to connect the PC and xbox wired in the office?

The LAN ports on the remote router will work just fine.
