[SOLVED] Can I web browse on 120hz and game on 144hz?

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 EVO
GPU: gigabyte 980ti
RAM: g.skill ripjaws x 16gb 1600
PSU: EVGA 750W Supernova G2 80+ Gold
Memory: Samsung 860 SSD 500gb and 1TB Western Blue HDD
Monitor 1: LG27GL83A-B
Monitor 2: AOC C24G1

Situation is whenever I set both of my monitors to 144hz my idle clock and temp will sky rocket to 925Mhz and 60C. This is only fixed when I set my hz in windows to 120 and it goes back to normal idle.

However, this also affects my max fps in games to 120 and it will only change to 144 if I go back and set my windows hz to 144. Is there a way for me to keep at 120hz while in web browsing but auto switch to 144hz when gaming?

If your idle temps are high you need to check the cooler or change the paste on the CPU?

CPU temps are fine only GPU and only when set at 144hz

You could speed the fans on your GPU using MSI afterburner!
