Hi,

As i mentioned in title, does i7 4770 bottleneck RTX 2060?

In short I'm currently using:

CPU: i7 4770
GPU: GTX 970
RAM: 16GB DDR3
I'm also using a XFX PRO 650W 80+ Bronze PSU.

The main reason I want to upgrade is because I'm using a 144Hz monitor which also has freesync and I want to run it, but It's not possible with my 970.
I'm only playing Rainbow 6 Siege, League, possibly new COD when it comes out, just some infos that might be needed.

Thanks in advance

Solution
When looking at Sandybridge to Haswell i7s, the best GPU you should get to avoid most Bottlenecking would be in the performance range that the following video cards would be placed.
Nvidia: GTX 980ti/1070/1070ti/1660ti/RTX 2060/2060 Super
AMD: RX 5700/Vega 56

You could use more powerful GPUs, but in nearly all cases, you would be leaving performance on the table if you bought a card faster than an RTX 2060 Super or RX5700.

The i7 4770 is not a bad CPU and will run most games at 144+fps with a GTX 1070/1660ti/RTX 2060 with adjusted settings usually around high for most games or possibly even higher.
