I getting a gtx 1080 from MSI but i belive that it has an 8 pin and 6 pin sockets on it. My PSU has 1x8 pin and 2x6 pin (The 8 is being used by my CPU) can i use a 6 pin to 8 pin converter or will it do bad to my GPU?

The 6-pin will allow 75W as known, even though other users differ when the R9 295X2 came out lets just say it's a given for now. 75+75 (two 6-pin power connectors) + 75 (motherboard power) = 225W, The GTX 1080 has a TDP of 180W. It'll work fine. If you wanted to use molex to 8-pin power connectors that is also fine, that will allow for maximum power draw if it ever needs it. This is assuming you know your power supply has enough amps on the 12V rail to power the GPU sufficiently.

Which one would be better the molex or the 6 pin?

This is what I'd do as well. If you have money for a Ferrari but not for the car insurance and maintenance on the Ferrari, you don't actually have enough for a Ferrari.

The heart of a well-built system is a quality PSU and the more expensive and powerful the components of the system, the more you need to responsibly safeguard them against electronic ripple and the like. Low-end PSUs are for your grand-uncle's solitaire-and-porn Windows XP PC.
