Can it 1080p 144hz ultra setting?

Cpu: i5 8600k

Cpu cooler: coolermaster hyper 212)

Motherboard: gigabyte z370n wifi

Ram: 16gb ram 2800mhz

Gpu: galax gtx 1080

Storage: wd green 240gb ssd + 1tb
Seagate barracuda hdd(7200rpm)

Case: phanteks p300 tg

Psu: evga 650w gold modular

1.how high can i overclock that cpu without surpassing 70°c
2.can it run open world game/fps game with ease on 144hz monitor?

Sure that's a good setup for 1080p 144Hz. Different games have different performance, you won't get 144fps in every game.

I'd probably get a better CPU cooler, Cryorig H5 or better. Intel CPUs run warmer than they used to, so 70C is a pretty steep limit if you're talking about stress testing. Gaming though, most games you'd be alright with the Hyper 212 without OC'ing and stay at or around 70C. I'd imagine a stress test at [strike]stock [/strike] (*4.3GHz on all cores) you'd see around 75C.

I'm getting my figures based on my i7-7700K and a Cryorig H7 I had. Not sure if the 8600K runs cooler or warmer, but I'd guess it's about the same.
