Can Kazaa be beat?

Thanks for posting! I remeber trying out a really early version of eDonkey and it sucked. This new one is great, but Kazaa can't be beat for the sheer number of people using it. Now I'm using both! Thanks again!

Yea, I had a friend recommend WinMX. Boy does that program suck. Not nearly enough users. Hard to find anything I was looking for and when I did I would still have to wait for it to download. Get KazaaLite.

The problem I find with Kazaa is that while it may have the most users on it but they're all kids or people without much interest outside of what's popular, sharing the same thing. If it's Anime, it rarely has anything other than DBZ/GT or anything else that appears on CN/CNX and FK, movies are generally limited to big blockbusters and the only TV shows you'll find are what's on SKY1.
Things like DC++ and Bit Torrent IMO have a much wider and extensive catalouge, so if it's something special or rare you want to download, use something other than Kazaa.

I just wanna thank you again for telling me about Overnet! I couldn't find it at download.com, it's one of the few quality P2P apps w/out messes of Spyware! Tons of music, software, "fun" videos. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I use Shareaza Available at <A HREF="http://www.Shareaza.com" target="_new">http://www.Shareaza.com</A> you can access Edonkey2000 ,Gnutella 1, Gnutella 2 and BitTorrent networks plus Magnet and Piolet, which ive never heard of, all at the same time. It is Spyware and Adware Free. and its pretty easy to use. After using EMule and Edonkey programs i think Shareaza is way better.

Ok, let me rephrase that statement. I <-------- think(think not know) that WinMX f*cking sucks!!!!! I don't care what anybody else thinks, I wasn't getting quick downloads like with Kazaa so, to me, that constitutes it sucking.

True, WinMX is harder to learn to use than Kazaa, but if you figure out how to use the OpenNap and some of the other intricacies of WinMX, there's no comparison on how much is available out there.

The EDonkey network is really good, but it's better to use EMule to Download files.

Coppermine, Banias, Opteron, Prescott, Barton... How 'bout investing less in the CPU and more in its name?

Bit torrent is easily fastest for me. I can get 300K on really popular files. I've had up to 474K once too. Usually I'm at around 80 or so though.

I have eDonkey but it's way too slow for me.

WASTE is awesome too. It's different than every other P2P in that you create your own private network with people you know. I'm on one now that's got about 1 TB shared between us. You KNOW the stuff is good, it's impossible for the RIAA to know what you have, and you know the people you're getting things from. Only problem is it's limited by the other users' upload caps, so you usually d/l something at 10-20K.

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.
