can linux and windows gamers play on same server ?

if you have seen my last post , i asked if a cs:cz server was overkill . you might have been wondering why i didnt have a copy of windows in the pcpartpicker list . it is becase it will be running linux . i want to know if windows and linux gamers can play on the same server . plese help
