Question Can matte (anti-glare) coatings be the cause of dirty screen effect?

I received my brand new BenQ PD3200Q in the mail yesterday and it has what appears to be fairly significant dirty screen effect. The weird thing is, if I look super close at the monitor pixels or change my viewing angle, the smudges disappear. Not only that, but if I shine a flashlight on the monitor I can see vertical bands in similar spots to the smudges even when the display is off. Do you think that the anti-glare coating could be the cause of this? I've heard that the coating can be removed if you're super carefly so I'm wondering if that would fix this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

To me in the picture it looks like your backlighting is way off. Can you post a picture of it in use?

What do you mean by "in use"? The problem mainly appears on solid colors and I tried to get the photo to look as close as possible to what I see in person.

Yeah, that looks more like a problem with poor backlight distribution.

Otherwise, I've only used matte LCD monitors (I count something like 10 monitors) and none of them have looked "dirty." So I doubt this has anything to do with the surface finish.

Blank screen doesn't tell you much I wanted to see an open app or a game in use etc.
