Question Can my 2060 support 2.1 or 2.0 hdmi? I am asking because despite having an 144hz monitor i am still capped at 60. My monitor is DELL S27719DGF.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

List all attached peripherals.

What do you mean with your current HDMI is 1.4? Are you talking about the cable? Because both your monitor and your card support HDMI 2.0.

But if your cable is HDMI 1.4, 60 Hz on a 1440p monitor makes sense. You could theoretically get 75 Hz but the monitor likely limits it to 60 Hz. If you want more than that, you will have to get either an HDMI 2.0 or a Display Port 1.4 cable.

Yeah my cable is HDMI 1.4. You're saying i could replace it with a 2.0. to go beyond 60 fps?

Yes, you need a cable that supports HDMI 2.0 or a Display Port 1.4 cable. Most often when the monitor is capped at 60 Hz it's because the cable doesn't support higher refresh rate for that resolution. Look for cables rated 4k@60Hz. You should be able to get 144 Hz at 1440p with that.
