Can my computer run The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion?

Hi guys,
I was just wondering how well oblivion would run on a computer with these specs:
HP Pavilion a475c
512mb of ddr1 ram installed (capable of 2gb)
Pentium 4 3.2 ghz processor
Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS
160 gb Hard Drive Space
16x Dvd-Rom drive.

Also, what kind of ram should I get to upgrade to the maximum 2gb?

you might be able to run it on low but it will be choppy

Technically you meet the system requirements. You won't have the best experience, but it should be playable on low at 720P.

That's probably the best idea. It would definitely help. Not going to let you play on medium or anything, but definitely worth it.

Yeah. 8400GS is a very weak card.

An 8800 would allow you to do medium-high. Make sure your power supply is strong enough though. I'm not sure about the RAM to be honest, sorry. Your computer is before my time. I've only been a computer person for about 3 years. Hopefully someone else can help with the RAM.

you would be able to play it with an 8800

your cpu will have to be eventually replaced if you want to play any new games as games are coming out now that need more than 1 core

most games are built to run on quad cores now even if they are not fully optimised for the most efficency

I will tell you I had it running on a Pentium M 1.8 GHz and a GeForce Go 6200, so I am certain that it will run on your computer. It will however have to be played on low settings. I am willing to bet you can still enjoy the game on low settings, I know I did at the time.

The Nvidia 8800 GTX was powerful GPU in its day, don't be fooled by it's name, i had one and played Oblivion maxed out 1080p on a dual core AMD, with mods. 🙂 FPS was around 45-50.
