So i have a 2500k. And a 6970 2gb at the moment. Almost bit on a 1070 2 days ago. Today while at Fry's, i got alot of answers on my monitor/video card questions. He told me that 480 was the max i should shoot for...think he's right?

What do you guys think? I'd love to get a 1440p ultrawide ips/led monitor and a card that can support this. Will my cpu allow it? Thanks in advance!

the 2500k is still a great cpu even today especially if overclocked see no reason it wouldnt cope with a gtx1070

my friend just got a gtx1070 with his 2600k doesnt seem to be any problem

If you don't overclock you will have a cpu bottleneck, meaning you wont get the most performance possible out of your gpu.

its still a very good cpu even if you dont overclock it--cpus just havent advanced much since the 2500k/2600k days

though the point of having a K version is that its overclockable
