Question Can my current build run an RTX 4080 ?

I don't really see a problem. Your PSU can handle it and your case has 381mm of video card clearance which is more than enough for even the largest RTX 4080 available in New Zealand, the Zotac GeForce RTX 3080 AMP Extreme Holo 16GB at 356mm.

I would personally take an RX 7900 XTX over an RTX 4080 (and I did) for the lower price and 24GB of VRAM but I can see that in NZ, the price difference between them is tiny so the RTX 3080 is a much better buy there than here in Canada.

You should just be able to pop it in and go. I can't foresee any problems with your current build. Your i9-9900K would be a bottleneck at 1080p but nobody buys an RTX 4080 to game at 1080p (unless they belong in the loony bin). You're good to go! 😉👍

Thanks for the reply I game at 3440x1440 144Hz. My budget is $1500 NZD so the 4080 is a little more than I want to spend but my 2080 ti has lasted 4 years and I would like this one to as well.

Depends on the resolution, but it should hold on 1440p. But on anything CPU bounded? A platform upgrade is next on the table.

I agreed with @Phaaze88 concern on whether it'll fit the 12VHPWR connector safely. In terms of width, at best you'd only have around 170-180mm, and something like Zotac Trinity 4080 is already around 150mm long, so you wont make the safe slack as instructed of around 25-45mm. You either want to run the revised 16-pin cable, or get a 90 degree adapter to play it safe. Although i do have seen people run the same setup like yours without 90 degree adapter easily, but as i state, not ideal.

It might be public now but here are the changes.

Good shout on both. I personally prefer Asrock Taichi for white 7900XTX but it doesn't seem to be available without crossing to the bigger New Zealand (Read: Australia), so yeah all good.

Would that be a better card for case clearance?

More than fine. And in my experience, the Pcie power connector is less finicky in terms of cable clearance.
