Can my rig support dual monitors without losing efficiency?

I'm kind of a gaming rig noob and was wondering if I could rig up a dual monitor display, and if so if I would lose any performance? My current set up is:
Geforce gtx 960
intel core i5 4690 3.5GHz
8GB ram
windows 8.1

yes, though you can't combine dual monitors into one resolution on nvidia cards, you need three to combine the resolution, but keeping them as separate resolutions won't be an issue.

So I could have say one 1080p and one 720? Without losing any performance from my pc?

correct, or 2 1080ps. higher resolutions would lower performance though, 1440p and 4k ect.
