I live about a block away from Walmart and my laptop had been auto connecting to their free wifi, then suddenly I could no longer connect, even when I sit in their parking lot. I've trouble shooted all I know to do and was wondering if Walmart may have "kicked me off", is that possible? Would be grateful for any suggestions as to how to get back on their wifi.

Solution
Using the WiFi from Walmart is just like using their parking lot. It is private property primarily for their customers. However the fact that it is also public access means non-customers can use it for incidental purposes. That is you cannot set up camp at walmart any more than you can camp out on their wifi. You have been camping and have gotten the hint to move on.

go there and demand to speak to the manager. let them know that what they are doing is unacceptable, you have a right to free internet. they need to fix it immediately.
