Hi,

Recently I have stopped being able to write to my SD card. It seems to have happened randomly and even when plugged into my computer, I cannot explore the SD card although it is recognised. When I try to take a picture (which by default saves to SD) the photo is not saved. If I try to move files from internal storage to SD, the files are instead deleted (I'm using the Files Go app to do this). However, files previously saved on the SD can be read on my phone- for example saved mp3 files are still playable. Does anyone know how to fix this? And if I do need a new SD, how can I backup the files currently on the SD, considering that my computer cannot read it?

Cheers.

It seems like your SD card somehow became write-protected. So try the following:
  1. Plug in your SD card. (and make sure you're not using the Lock if you're using SD adapter)
  2. Open CMD as Admin.
  3. Type diskpart and Enter.
  4. Then type list disk and Enter. (You'll see disk 0, disk 1, etc.)
  5. Type select disk # (depending your SD card no.) and Enter.
  6. After being rewarded with a message saying that your disk has been selected, type attributes disk clear readonly and Enter.
Hopefully, you'll be able to use it again.
