Why do you want to buy a new old socket? And to answer your question technically no even if you purchased an unused socket 1156 you will still be purchasing old hardware.

Are you looking for the plastic socket itself or an LGA 1156 board or an LGA 1156 socket CPU? If you are looking for the plastic socket itself, you aren't likely to be able to buy a new unmounted socket as there is no reason to make spares, it is soldered onto the board and cannot be replaced.

Hi..First I am not American which I presume most are on this forum judging by the answers....I thought I had adequately described in my post what I was seeking info on ....An 1156 socket where one puts the 1156 CPU into ..Hows That....
and yes I know its yesterdays technology but I do not think its any business of anybody but myself why I would like to find out the answer ...Maybe I should have used 1155 instead of 1156 ?.
Its quite evident to me now that this forum is one I should not have joined to seek help on...so if the moderator would kindly remove me from Toms Hardware registration list I will be more than happy...

:S You sir make no sence and yes you should have gone lga 1155, but you should find a forum that caters to your language. And you can remove yourself from the forum if you like XD

YES ..I was wrong And I genuinely apologise ..when I went back and rechecked the links you posted I realised my mistake...that what was being offered was the socket w/cover ...I immediately tried to edit my post but I was clearly not quick enough ..what more can i say ?? ...Hk
