hi, i planning to aprinter in the coming weeks ,but iam not sure which one . i want a printer for photo and normal printing at a good price . can any one advise me of such a printer ?

More info would help.
Are you wanting really serious photo printing, or middle of the road?
What's the maximum size you'll be printing at?
What do you consider a "good price" to be? (what's the most you'll spend?)

Given the lack of information, I'll have to recommend the HP DeskJet 5550 $120.00 at www.newegg.com.

It prints good photos at a cost I consider reasonable. However, you may want to go with something else, depending on how much you want to spend on the printer, and how good the quality must be. I should mention, photos printed on this printer are very fade resistant when using good photo paper.

Pain is the realization of your own weakness.

well i don't want professional printing... i want in between not bad and not the good(since it will be expense) so as i said in between . well i can afford hp 5550 . whats the issue about photo printing? and is there any other good printer within that range . what about epson ?

Epson C82 (~$129) and Epson Stylus Photo 825 (~$149) are in the same general range. 825 will do better with photos.

You still haven't told us the maximum you would like to spend, etc. (see my first response)

Anymore there is virtually no difference print quality wise between most main stream printers and photo printers. They use the same print mechanism but the photo printers add photo card slots. It comes down to what functionality you need. If you need card readers, get a photo printer. If you don't a printer like the DJ 5550 wilol print photos that you can't tell from photo developed pictures. Just remember that the quality of the print is only as good as the quality of the paper and ink - and forget what some people say, there are huge amounts of difference in papers and inks. PC World had an article about it called The Fade Factor. If you are wanting to print photos, do yourself a favor and read that article. Just type in The fade factor in the Search Window at the PC World main page to pull up the article. http://www.pcworld.com/
