My friend has a pirated Windows 10 Pro on his 256GB SSD, he's building a new PC and wants to know if he can go from that to legit Windows 10 Home without wiping the drive completely and reinstalling clean because that would mean that his steam games would need to be reinstalled (100 games) it's a long story but steam glitches out and won't recognize the games and forces you to reinstall sometimes.
He wants to upgrade to legit version anyway regardless of steam issues, but even if wiping is necessary, how does one go about that? Will the SSD need to be connected to another PC and then wiped from the desktop of that PC using a program? He can't use his old PC for that, because he's taking parts from it and putting it in the new PC, so the old one won't even turn on.
