Hi friends ,
I have gtx 750ti and a local PSU of 450 watts that I have been using for 5 years. I upgraded the GPU.. But I am unable to make this GPU to work properly sometime it works and most of the times it says nvidia drivers has stopped responding.. And the monitor turn off .. I had 2 HDD connected with the PSU .. After disconnecting one of them I think my gpu got enough power to operate .. Now its working without my second HDD.. Is this due to low power PSU or the GPU has some issues too..??

Solution
that psu is old and it can only deliver maximum 216w off it's +12v rail. accelerated aging may have caused it to lose performance and reliability. however, since the gtx 750ti is designed to use low power, i am not blaming the psu just yet (although it is the biggest suspect atm).

for now, get a better quality psu and see if the same issues happen again. at least you'll get a psu upgrade of this situation. :) a seasonic s12g 450 or an xfx 450 ts or 550 ts will do just fine.

meanwhile, check if your motherboard bios, drivers, gfx card drivers are updated or not.

edit: fixed the brand name.

So you upgraded the GPU to a GTX 750ti correct?

5 Years for a lower wattage PSU seems like a long lifespan, there is a high chance your PSU is malfunctioning.
What is your entire PC specs?

You say you upgraded your 750Ti; what did you upgrade it to? Most newer cards require a minimum of a 500W PSU for a basic system, and may need more depending on the rest of your components. If the card isn't receiving enough power, it most certainly can cause issues.

depends on the quality and performance of the psu. the low end psus use cheap components and cut corners in design which result in an unreliable psu. this kind of psu also ages faster so it loses it's capabilities faster over time.

what is your psu model and the specifications of the rest of the config?

the gtx 750ti uses quite low power, shouldn't stress most psus.

Its a local brand called mercury .. I just thought that the 750ti requires less power so this PSU might also work.. But I think I was wrong...the reading oh the PSU says
+12v- 18A
-12v. 0.5A
+5v. 30A
+3.3v. 21A
+5VSB. 1.5A

Earlier I was using the HD 6670 card and that worked normal..
My specs are
CPU - and athlon x2 245 2.8ghz
Ram - 6gb DDR 2
Motherboard- biostar ta785ge
Monitor- HP 22fi full HD
GPU - gtx 750ti..
HDD - WD 320gb + Seagate barracuda 2tb
PSU - mercury 450 watts
CPU cooler - deepcooler gammaxx 400

Like I said, 5 years old and likely from one of the many manufacturers of fire hazard quality PSU's. PSU's deteriorate over time, and bad ones do it faster and didnt perform well enough to begin with. Get the one I linked above.
