So busy week - Started a new position, pay raise, benefits. . . San Francisco property prices. In short I just accepted a job in the heart of San Fran's business district and will be moving into a in-law studio. My computer runs with an Ethernet cable currently and so I will be needing a WiFi card. I know I want an PCI-e based card vs a USB dongle, what I don't know is what type of card to purchase as this is a new realm for me.
What I have been looking at is mainly keeping a strong connection when the apartment is >40 feet away from the main office, where the router is located, so I will need something with a decent rage on it. The family I am renting from said they spent close to 200 dollars on an asus router and that the previous tenants received a strong signal. I play a lot of competitive games such as League and DayZ where a ping rate issue could cost me the game.
In short - what I am looking at is what is the difference between say http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F42V83C/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1TE2G9BX5CTPA&coliid=I2K2F36VNOMCBM&psc=1 and a cheaper unity like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704133&cm_re=TP_link_wifi-_-33-704-133-_-Product ?
