I'm having a bizarre power problem with my Asus laptop... Whenever the power in the house goes out the laptop switches over to the battery (as it should). However, even after the power comes back on the laptop continues to run off of the battery. This has happened a few times but I always fail to realize that it's running off the battery until I get a message saying that I'm running out of power. The laptop usually "dies" soon thereafter and will NOT power on again, sometimes for several hours. When this happens it also won't power on using just the adapter (with the battery removed) which it normally will. It's as if there's some sort of disconnect between the battery, adapter, and laptop; the laptop isn't getting the signal that house power has been restored. So, is the problem being triggered by the battery or the adapter?
